Green Grab Bag Review - Monthly Surprises!

Do you love surprises? I do! I love getting surprises, and I love keeping something a surprise from someone else, just to see their reactions - oh, so fun! Green Grab Bag is a monthly subscription for an eco-friendly bag of natural beauty products delivered to your door every month! There are at least 6 samples every month, for just $15. That's an entire bag full of surprises every month! Check out what spilled out of my July Green Grab Bag!
I'm not sure what my favorite part about this bag is yet, all the cool products inside or the tag that came with it. The tag describes everything you receive, then gives you a Green Grab Bag Exclusive Discount offer on every product within the bag! Ranging from 15-20% off your order!
Included in my Green Grab Bag were:

EO® Certified Organic Deodorant Spray
Simply Bath Salts Lavender Blend
GO Skin Care Ginger Face Cleanser
La Mellite Strawberry Lemon Sugar Scrub
Opalima Beauty Eyeshadows
CoTZ PURE Sunscreen
and Mighty Leaf Tea

I tried the Organic Deodorant Spray first. It arrived just in time, too. My other all natural brand deodorant was running low, and almost to the point of breaking off (you know, when it scrapes your skin because it flipped out of the container it was so low?) I admit, I was a little nervous to spray under my arms, I thought I might wet my t-shirt. The smell is nice and slightly floral, but not too strong. On their website they have other scents available. My shirt didn't get wet, and I feel nice and dry, and still smell great hours later. EO® Organic Deodorant full size bottle is $5.99.

CoTZ PURE Sunscreen before rubbed in.
The CoTZ PURE Sunscreen is 100% free of chemical ingredients. There are ZERO synthetic ingredients, preservatives, oils, fragrances, parabens or PABA. It's silky soft and gentle formula offers up to 40 minutes of water resistance, after that it needs to be re-applied. Which is typically the rule for all sunscreens. The active ingredients are Titanium Dioxide 4.1% and Zinc Oxide 8.4%. The only thing "odd" about this product is the texture/consistency. It's thick like most sunscreens, but almost a bit grainy when first squeezed out. When your rub the product in, it's not gritty. So those must dissolve rather quickly. SPF 30, Price is $19.99

I'm pretty excited about this Strawberry Lemon Sugar Scrub by La Mellite. It reminded me of the Sugar Scrubs I make here at home for my face, the only difference being La Mellite freshens their recipe up with luxurious oils and botanical extracts. (I really need to build up my essential oils arsenal!) I know I'm onto something good when I can appreciate and understand the reason behind the recipe. If you visit back to my discussion on wearing your food on your face, you'll see that the Strawberry and Lemon in this scrub have multiple benefits. If you visit the Green Grab Bag website, this sugar scrub has a code for 20% off and free shipping!

GO Ginger Skin Care  uses the power of Ginger to spice up their skin care products. Ginger has been used for centuries in foods and to help upset stomachs, and both morning and motion sickness. In this product, organic ginger essential oil from Madagascar is used, and has a detoxifying effect while energizing and firming your complexion. I used this sample to wash my face this morning, and I really did like it. It didn't smell strongly of ginger, in fact I don't recall smelling anything! It lathered nicely and left my face feeling clean and smooth.

Simply Bath Salts  have a pure color; they also don't use organic clays or herbal colorants because the people at SBS believe those can have a tendency to separate in the water and float or leave a yucky film in the bath tub, and Mrs. NTH agrees that floating, separating bath salts would ruin relaxation. The lavender aroma found in these bath salts is from 100% pure essential oils, grown organically and produced through steam distillation. The jojoba oil in these bath salts leave your skin feeling really silky smooth and soft. The directions do suggest you wash and rinse after soaking for 15-30 minutes. You just add 1 cup of salts to running bath water, some stirring may be necessary. Seal up the package after every use and store in a cool dry area; not in a humid environment like your bathroom or basement.

Keep your bath salts NATURAL!

I must admit, with all the talk of bath salts going on in the news lately, I had a little chuckle when I opened the Grab Bag! But this memo was tucked inside with good, reassuring information.

These are the sample eye shadow colors I received in my Green Grab Bag from Opalima . The neat thing about these mineral eye shadows, is they can be used dry in powder form, or as a liner once a little bit of liquid is added and a fine brush is used. GGB website had these instructions: Shake a small amount of the mineral powder onto a small dish or palette and use the flat end of your eyeshadow brush to pick up the color. Pat the color onto the lid, repeating until the desired intensity is achieved. For more intense color, add a few drops of purified or distilled water to the minerals and apply in the same way. Once dry, blend well.
I appreciate the feel of these as a mineral eye shadow, but unfortunately I won't be trying the blue out. I have dark brown eyes and a dark blue shade just won't mesh well on my face. I looked at the website and was completely overwhelmed by the beautiful collections of colors they have! The code for this product on GGB is good for 20% a minimum purchase of $15!

My husband is a big tea fanatic. He has his favorites, but is often on the lookout for new flavors or options. The sample pack that comes from Mighty Leaf  is for an Organic Early Grey that I can smell right through the pouch - mmm. If you're not familiar with Early Grey teas, the description on the back of the packet is as follows; Gold tips of rich black tea leaves blended with a twist of deep, first-press bergamot oil. The brew time is only 4 minutes, so you can get cozy while your tea steeps, and sit back and enjoy. The prices begin at $6.97 for a box of 15, just visit their website (don't forget to visit GGB for a discount code!)

After all the pampering items I got from this months Green Grab Bag, I think I'm actually going to be a nice wife and allow Mr. NTH to enjoy this sample. :)

I was totally thrilled with all of my goodies inside of July's Green Grab Bag. I received more than $15 worth of products, and the variety of the products were great - I have never heard of ANY of these brands prior to this!

You can learn about the latest and greatest for upcoming months by following Green Grab Bag on Twitter and Facebook, or just sign up for their monthly subscriptions and be surprised month after month with great, all natural products!
